News and Highlights
Board of Regents
The Archer Center was on the agenda at the Board of Regents meeting for the first time in the Center's history. Vice Chancellor Bill Shute made a formal presentation to the Board on the history, mission and vision of the Center. Chairman Archer traveled to Texas for the meeting and was met by Archer alumnus, Arturo Barrio, who made the trip from Mexico City to meet with the Regents and share his experiences as an Archer Fellow. Arturo now serves as the Director for Border Affairs for Mexico's Secretary of Foreign Affairs. We will keep you updated on the outcomes of the meeting and any new developments that will contribute to the future of the Center.
Fifth Anniversary Celebration
Washington, D.C. is always busy but an election year makes it even more chaotic. Since the anniversary celebration was being planned in the midst of this madness, the Archer Center felt it best to postpone the celebration. In the meantime, look for a special fifth anniversary update in your mailbox. To be sure you get the mailer, visit the alumni update page on the website and send us your latest contact information.

Fall Fellows Arrive
The Fall 2006 class of Archer Fellows arrived in D.C. on September 1st in the midst of a torrential downpour courtesy of Hurricane Ernesto. However, the wet weather did not dampen their spirits as they trudged along in the rain participating in the annual Washington, D.C. scavenger hunt. Above is a photo from their trip to Cherry Hills Farm - luckily the sun came out just in time for the trip to the Shenandoah Valley. To meet all of the Fellows, visit their individual profiles online.
